Jewels of Ra Symbols & Paytable

Jewels of Ra uses a compact symbol set: four Egyptian high symbols, five card royals, a multiplier wild, four coloured scarab money symbols and one collect symbol that appears only in the bonus. This page lists what each of them pays as a multiple of the total bet, how the 1,024 ways are counted and how the scarab values and jackpots fit into the picture.

How Payouts Work: 1,024 Ways

The grid has five reels and four rows. Instead of fixed paylines, Jewels of Ra pays on ways: a win needs the same symbol on three, four or five adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel, and the symbols can sit in any row. Four rows on five reels give 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 = 1,024 possible paths, which is where the number comes from. Only the longest combination of each symbol is paid, and several different symbols can pay on the same spin.

Because the count starts at three reels, the royals produce frequent small returns while the Egyptian symbols need to stretch across four or five reels to pay noticeably. All paytable values below are multiples of the total bet, not of a line bet.

High-Paying Symbols

Symbol 3 on a way 4 on a way 5 on a way
Cleopatra 1x 1.6x 2.4x
Anubis 0.8x — 2x
Eye of Ra 0.6x — 1.6x
Ankh 0.4x — 1.2x

Cleopatra is the premium symbol: five across pay 2.4x the bet, and three across return the stake. Anubis follows with a range of 0.8x to 2x, the Eye of Ra pays between 0.6x and 1.6x, and the Ankh between 0.4x and 1.2x. The four-symbol values for the last three sit between their three- and five-symbol figures.

These numbers look modest next to the 5,000x cap, and that is by design. Base-game pays are the slow burn of Jewels of Ra; multiplied wilds and the Respin Feature do the heavy lifting.

Low-Paying Symbols

Symbol 3 on a way 5 on a way
A, K, Q, J, 10 0.2x 0.6x

The five royals share one pay scale: 0.2x the bet for three on a way, rising to 0.6x for five. With 1,024 ways, two royals stacked across several reels often create multiple overlapping wins at once, which is what keeps the hit rate near one spin in five or six.

Wild Symbol and Multipliers

The wild lands on reels two to five and substitutes for all regular symbols, which on a ways grid means it can complete or extend any combination that reaches it. Each wild carries one of three multipliers: x2, x3 or x5.

The important rule is that multipliers combine by multiplication, not addition. One x3 wild in a win triples it; a x3 and a x5 wild in the same win make it x15; two x5 wilds plus a x2 reach x50. A five-of-a-kind Cleopatra at 2.4x with a x15 combination is worth 36x the bet from a single base-game spin, which is why wild-heavy synchronised spins are the base game's best moments.

What the wild does not do

The wild stands in only for the paying symbols. It does not act as a scarab money symbol and does not substitute for the Sun of Ra, which has no counterpart in the base game at all. There is no scatter in Jewels of Ra, so there is nothing for the wild to replace there either.

Money Symbols: The Scarabs

Scarabs come in four colours — blue, green, red and gold — and each one lands with a value printed on it. The possible values are 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x and 100x the bet, or one of three fixed jackpots:

Jackpot Value
Minor 200x
Major 500x
Mega 2,500x

Scarabs are not paid by symbol count. Their values are collected only inside the Respin Feature, by the Sun of Ra, and the jackpots are paid at face value without the collect multiplier. Five scarabs on a single spin lock and award one respin; six or more start the feature. How the collection works, including the x1 to x10 multiplier steps, is explained on the Respin Feature page.

Sun of Ra: The Collect Symbol

The Sun of Ra is a golden disc that can only appear once the Respin Feature is running. When it lands it takes every scarab value on the grid, applies the current multiplier, pays the total, clears the reels and resets the respin counter. It has no payout of its own and does not form ways. Think of it as the cashier of the bonus rather than a symbol in the usual sense.

No Scatter, No Free Spins

Jewels of Ra has neither a scatter symbol nor a free-spins round. The only bonus is the Respin Feature, and the only way to open it is to land six or more scarabs on one spin, buy it for 60x, or improve the odds with Ante Bet. Players used to "three scatters for ten free spins" should look for scarabs instead; everything else on the reels is a plain paying symbol or the multiplier wild.

Reading the Paytable in the Game

The in-game paytable, opened from the "i" icon, lists the same values shown here, scaled to your current bet. It also prints the RTP of the installed version at the bottom of the rules, and the free demo lets you watch the values update live as you change the stake.

FAQ

Which symbol pays the most in Jewels of Ra?

Cleopatra is the top regular symbol: five on a way pay 2.4x the total bet, four pay 1.6x and three pay 1x. Among the special symbols, the scarab money symbols carry far larger values, up to 100x or a 2,500x Mega jackpot, but those are collected only inside the Respin Feature.

How many ways to win does Jewels of Ra have?

Jewels of Ra has 1,024 ways to win on its five-reel, four-row grid. A win needs matching symbols on at least three adjacent reels counting from the left, in any rows. The 1,024 figure is four rows raised to the power of five reels, and every way is active on every spin.

Do the wild multipliers in Jewels of Ra stack?

They multiply rather than add, which is the stronger kind of stacking. Each wild on reels two to five shows x2, x3 or x5; when two or more multiplied wilds take part in the same win, their values are multiplied together, so x3 and x5 give x15 and three x5 wilds give x125 on that combination.
